Bio

Christine Carucci received a Bachelor of Music with concentrations in music education and performance from the Eastman School of Music, a Master of Music in performance from the University of Southern California, and a Ph.D. in music education from the University of Kentucky. In addition, she has received certifications in Orff-Schulwerk, Kodaly, and Cognitive Coaching. Christine has taught K-12 instrumental and general music in New York, California and Massachusetts, and has held positions teaching music at St. Cloud State University, University of Minnesota-Morris, and University of Rhode Island.   During the 2010-2011 academic year, Christine served as a facilitator for the Perpich Center for Arts Education’s Arts Integration Project .  As a bassoonist, Christine has performed throughout North America, Europe and Asia with a variety of performing ensembles. She is the co-founder and co-director of the Lexington, KY New Horizons Band , and is an advocate for community music education across the lifespan.
